Roots and Traditions Diving into the heart of rural life

I visited… “The Roots of Rural Life Ecomuseum”.

I went back in time… to the heart of rural life. On entering the Ecomusée Les racines de la vie rurale, I had the impression of going back in time. Not through frozen shop windows, no… but through a lively, warm, almost familiar atmosphere. I walked in the footsteps of the men and women who lived to the rhythm of the land, the seasons, manual labour and traditions handed down from generation to generation.

Back to basics Stories of fields and thatched cottages

I discovered a place where time stands still… and where everything makes sense.

Every piece, every tool, every photograph seems to have a story to tell. Here, nothing stands still: the ecomuseum comes to life through collections of old farming tools, archives and photographs of our forebears, the men and women of the land who have shaped our landscape and our memory.

As you explore the museum, you’ll learn about the development of farm machinery, the old trades that have disappeared, and how these changes have transformed our countryside… and our lives. It’s a real leap into the past, but also a way of getting a better grasp of the present.

I put my finger on a time not so long ago, and when I left, I wasn’t quite the same person. It was a sensitive and authentic experience, a way of reconnecting with your roots… and rediscovering the essence of what it means to ‘live together’.

A timeless interlude… to be experienced, felt and passed on.
