This stone mill, dating from 1731, was built on the site of a wooden mill using materials from the nearby former Watten Abbey. Built on the remains of fortifications, it operated until 1930, before losing both its wings in a storm in 1937. It was used as an observatory by the German army in 1940. It wasn't until 1985 that the commune bought it, restored it and opened it to visitors. A new roof and a new mechanism enable the mill to grind grain as it did in the past.
Please note that the mill is closed for the 2024 season. A structural problem has arisen at the mill, preventing it from being opened to the public in complete safety.
