Exasperated by the situation, Julius Caesar decided to change tactics: since his armies were incapable of imposing themselves by force, Roman civilization itself would be able to seduce these barbaric Gauls. So he had a luxurious residential estate built next to the village for Roman owners. the result: "Le Domaine des Dieux" (The Domain of the Gods).
