Description
The "MELTING SAX" Saxophone Ensemble Founded in February 2024, under the direction of Frédéric BASQUIN and Grégory LETOMBE, both Professors at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de LILLE, the "MELTING SAX" ensemble, ranging from soprano to bass saxophone, is made up of our 3rd cycle students, talented young musicians on the road to professionalism.
The "MELTING SAX" program reflects its name: a genuine blend of styles and influences. It explores a wide variety of repertoires, from classical to jazz, from contemporary music to original works. This diversity enables our students to develop an exceptional musical openness and gain invaluable experience on stage.
Our aim today is to share this musical adventure with a wide audience. We'd like to take the "MELTING SAX" ensemble beyond the borders of the conservatory, to showcase the talent of our young saxophonists in other cities. We firmly believe that this ensemble represents the vitality and dynamism of the Lille Conservatory saxophone class. We would be delighted to collaborate with different cultural structures and other conservatories to offer concerts that will put the spotlight on this new generation of musicians. Frédéric Basquin and Grégory Letombe also offer a Master-Class, enabling students to benefit from sound advice in various fields: musicality, specific techniques, repertoire research...
